Hot Pants at Lion's Den'This Thursday
Organ and brass bad boys The Hotpants will be playing at the Lion's Den this Thursday night at 11pm. The Hotpants have made a name for themselves at their homestand Smoke on the Upper West Side. Owner Frank Christopher says, "Hotpants is my secret weapon... all I have to do is open the door and people will cross the street to check them out. That's how Wednesday night has become such a scene at Smoke. These guys are not just a band, they're an addiction."

Joe Maneri at Tonic

Joe Maneri, improviser, composer and educator, has been considered an underground legend throughout most of his career. In the 1990's he broke out of hiding, releasing critically acclaimed records for Leo, HatHut and ECM. Joe will be performing with long-time collaborators Mat Maneri (side man to Cecil Taylor, Matthew Shipp and Joe Morris) and Randy Peterson (a formidable rhythm section with bassists Cecil McBee, Barre Phillips and Mark Dresser).
