Description:Join Grupo Los Santos as they celebrate the release of their 2nd CD, Lo Que Somos Lo Que Sea (“What We Are What Will Be”), at one of New York's finest venues for live jazz. The all-original CD, featuring some of New York City’s most accomplished and talented young jazz and Latin jazz musicians, is a blazing mix of Afro-Cuban, Jazz, Funk, Brazilian, and Flamenco influences. Tenor saxophonist Paul Carlon, guitarist Pete Smith, bassist Dave Ambrosio, and drummer William “Beaver” Bausch contribute equally and authoritatively to the vibrant group interplay that defines the distinct Santos sound. No less an elder than late great trombonist/composer Juan Pablo Torres gave his blessing to Grupo los Santos’ originality and unique interpretations of the classic Cuban traditions.

Rumbatap pioneer Max Pollak engages the band on Lo Que Somos Lo Que Sea with his innovative artistry on “Rumba in the Bronx” and “Toreja Kulo”. The unofficial ‘fifth Santo’, Pollak has been deeply involved with the group’s experiments in rhythm from the band’s inception, and frequently performs on the group’s live shows.
