| Description: | New York, NY - Come support a new Innovative Music Series. Arts for Art has been working with Rise Up Creative Music and Arts (RUCMA) to keep real, a strong presence of innovative music in the Lower East Side. RUCMA is a grassroots alliance of musicians and music lovers, united to address their creative, political and practical concerns through advocacy and action. Together Arts for Art with RUCMA and a growing group of arts organizations, aim to change the role of art in society. Our message is that the creative arts are the heart of our community. History has shown that a thriving, creative artistic community is essential for a healthy, prosperous, and intellectually vital society.
So far, Arts for Art has subsidized the costs of this series and other RUCMA activities. On May 9, 10 and 11, we will hold a benefit with some of the best New York City improvisers to help with the organization costs of the Series.
