More Live Jazz than Any Other Venue in the WORLD! Description: I am a bebop Jazz piano player. I began playing at the age of eight, and working professionally at the age of 12. My idols include Bird, Count Basie, Bud Powell, Sonny Clark, Red Garland, Hampton Hawes, Art Tatum, Thelonious Monk, Buster Williams, Sonny Stitt, Sam Jones, and of course Mr. Benny Green. I am currently in school at SUNY - Purchase (about 30 minutes north of Manhattan, near Connecticut). I like to spend my time in Manhattan Jazz clubs sitting in with Jimmy Cobb, Frank Wess, and all my heroes. You can hear me two nights a week at Birdland Jazz Club (44th St. Between 8th and 9th), and starting in the fall I will be working with jazz drummer Fukushi Tainaka.
