WHY RHYTHM & SOUL? The Rhythm & Soul Music Festival is a traveling music experience. It takes place quarterly around the country, and features some of R&B and soul music's hottest known and unknown bands, singers, poets and DJs. "Rhythm & Soul" is a contemporary blend of R&B (think: Mary J Blige, Ne-Yo, Beyonce and Usher) mixed with soul (think: Jill Scott, D'Angelo, Erykah Badu and Kem). We experience these great sounds of today with winks at the foundation of previous years...from the 70's to the mid-90's. There will even be hints of jazz, blues, funk and hip-hop sprinkled in throughout each artist set! Music has gone through changes and much of today's radio hits and stars are crafted from within the minds of people who do not put the music first-only the revenue potentially made matters. Our mission is to preserve the integrity of black music's finest...and give opportunities to other artists who aren't seen or heard but are just as talented as the manufactured stars. THE ARTISTS Our lineup was carefully put together, reviewed, changed and finally locked in after nearly six months! All have a page on My Space; you can go there to hear and see them, or get links to our top friend favorites at www/myspace.com/rsmf.
